In July 2025, my family heard the words no one ever wants to hear. My father, Kevin Clohesy, was diagnosed with ALS. A disease that slowly takes away movement, speech, and even breath, ALS has no cure, but it hasn’t taken away my dad’s spirit.

Kevin has always been larger than life: the man who greets everyone with “Hello Sunshine!”, the Packer fan with his shrine, the handyman who could fix anything, and the father who made every movie night an adventure. Some of my best memories are with him, road trips to car shows, late-night marathons of Star Wars, or waking up early for the State Fair, eating our way through the day. He loves his family, his dog Gizmo, and he never turns down a chance to make people laugh.

Even on the day he learned of his diagnosis, he was still cracking jokes. That’s who he is, someone who keeps his head high and finds joy even in dark times. This fundraiser is my way of giving back, to help him live as comfortably and fully as possible for as long as we can.
