My parents family home gutted by an electrical fire

Hi, my name is Jai Buckley, and I am posting this on behalf of my parents who have just suffered a devastating fire and need the support.

On Saturday morning, 14th September at 3am, there was an electrical fire which partially burnt down Greg and Tania's family home, and heavily damaged what is left of it.

They have lost pretty much everything, including all stored sentimental items, memorabilia, their clothes, furniture, toiletries, bedding, cookware, inherited memorabilia and so much more. They have lost their home.

Seeing my mum and dad hysterical has been heartbreaking.

His mk1 cortina, also heavily damaged in the fire.

Their property has been deemed inhabitable, and the power has been disconnected at the pole.

They are raising funds to provide immediate relief for food, accommodation, clothes, continued bills and more.

They are planning for temporary accommodation (a caravan) so they can stay on their property during the lengthy rebuilding process.

My parents have never had to ask for help like this. They really do deserve the love, support, and energy during this time.

The fire was on 9 news, and took several fire crews to extinguish.

They are extremely lucky to be here. The fire was so close to their bedroom, and they managed to push the cortina out of the shed before the fuel tank ignited.

Some of the items will never be able to be replaced. Including, me and my sisters baby stuff, my parents wedding stuff, photos, and even my late grandfathers car and record collection.

Greg and Tania are truly deserving of all the support they can get. Home fires have a huge impact on mental and physical health, and they have a long road ahead to rebuild.
