Hi everyone

My name is Murray - I am a person with autism in my early 30s and an active keen sailor. I’ve spent nearly 10 years running my own charity Autism on the Water which provides free of charge sailing for people with autism.

In recent months, I’ve been going through alot of mental health struggles due to pressure with running the charity. Until I was introduced to Para Sailing which I grew to love and immensely enjoyed the freedom of personal sailing against individuals who have had journeys similar to me. This year I bought a 2.4mr para sailing boat which has really given me a new lease of life and has made me want to explore one day competing in the Paralympic Games.

I’ve been given a fantastic opportunity to take part in the Inclusion Sailing World Championships in Oman at the end of November which is a event that brings all intellectual and physical disabilities within sailing together to compete at world level. This event is like no other and it would be one of my steps to reaching the games in 2032.

There is a cost associated with this and I need to raise the funds to cover travel, entry fee and accommodation.

I know that times are tight for all right now but it would mean so much to me if you could help me support my journey to my dream goal. This event is one of these potential once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that don’t come round often. Any contribution big or small would be so amazing - even if you can’t chip in, even just a share of this page would be a huge help.

Any money over my target will be donated towards the running of an Inclusive sailing event in the UK. If I don’t raise the funds required then refunds will be given.

it’s a personal challenge, but I hope that you will be able to help me get out to the Middle East and race against some of the most inspiring sailors in the world.
