My New Uber Car

Hi everyone, thank you for stopping and reading my post.
Last August I started my process to start driving for Uber Rideshare in Chicago and it took a few months,(background checks and vehicle inspection). Then I went for my car inspection and I got a good/fair rating but passed. I was on the road having fun and making decent money..paying all my bills. A few weeks ago my car basically had it. (I also fell in a huge pothole in the rain) its a 12 yr old Hyundai and it gave all it could. I got the car estimate on the repair and it was more than the car is worth. When I started driving for Uber I had 95,000 miles on it which was pretty good for over a decade old car since and now it 266,000 miles hence my car is dying a slow death. I'm not asking for a brand new car just something without a bunch of issues. My current car is a 2005 bought new by my mom and I want to buy something closer to a 2009/2010. Since i've been driving all i do is worry about the car because its my only source of income and its 12 yrs old.

My back story about my life and family. In 2009 it became apparent our mom was declining mentally and physically. 4 yrs ago my sister and I decided she would be a full time student and I would be a full time care giver for our mom. so i became a 24/7 care giver for my mom.  In 2013 she was properly diagnosed with Alzheimers at the age of 62. Diabetes also chronic Cronhs. she was falling apart before our eyes. Being a care giver was the hardest thing i've ever done in my life so far. Emotionally and mentally exhausting.
And then it all came to an end 2 yrs ago. she passed away in her own bed and in her own home. That part I know was very important to her.

Since then i have had few jobs but the wages were comical and not enough to pay our passed down mortgage. Thats why Uber has worked out for me I love driving and meeting people also seeing parts of my state i wouldn't otherwise have seen. I share my story to say my late 20's were not a cake walk or easy in any sense. I just wanted a peek of sunshine in my life after all this time of worry. I want to drive the people of Chicagoland around with ease and feel safe about the car I am in. I hope my story isn't heavy handed or it reads like a guilt trip please don't take it like that.. its just part of my story that makes me who i am. Thank you for reading and please any donation would help.
