My Nan represent GB in South Africa for Powerlifting

Hi everyone,

I’m creating this GoFundMe for my amazing 76 year old nan. A woman who proves it’s never too late to chase a dream.

Just last year, at the age of 75, my nan was introduced to the world of powerlifting by myself, her granddaughter (Jessie) who believed in her strength even before she believed in herself. After some convincing, my Nan gave it a try  and never looked back.

Despite living with Meniers disease, a condition that affects her balance and hearing, and caring for her seriously unwell husband, she has shown unstoppable determination, training hard and pushing herself every day. Her journey has been anything but easy, yet she continues to rise to every challenge with courage and grace.

Now, her efforts have paid off in the most incredible way… she’s been invited to represent Great Britain at the World Powerlifting Championships in South Africa!

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to compete on the world stage and inspire others by showing that age is just a number and it’s never too late to become strong, in body, mind and spirit.

But with travel, accommodation, competition fees and other expenses, this dream comes with a financial burden that she simply cannot meet alone — especially with the added stress of supporting her husband’s health needs. My Nan has always helped everyone throughout her time and has never asked for anything in return. She wouldn’t dream of asking for help, hence I’m asking on her behalf.

We’re hoping to raise £5000 to get her to South Africa, where she can proudly compete and prove it’s never too late to start for everyone who’s ever been told “you’re too old” or “it’s too late.”
