My name is Saeed, and I am from Khan Younis in Gaza, Palestine. I am writing this not just for myself, but for my entire family and the community around me. We are living through unimaginable hardship and pain, and the world needs to know what is happening here.
Before the war, I lived a stable life. I had a home, a business, and a store. I worked hard every day to provide for my family and to build a better future. Like so many others, I had dreams and hopes, and we lived with dignity and purpose.
But everything was taken from us.
The Israeli military destroyed our home in Khan Younis. My business and store were also completely destroyed. In one moment, years of work and everything we owned were reduced to rubble. We lost not just our property, but our security, our peace, and everything familiar.
Now I am living in a tent near the sea with my family — 13 people in total. We have no clean water, no food, and no access to medicine. We are surviving only through donations that rarely meet our most basic needs. Some days we eat, some days we don't. The children are suffering from hunger and fear. The elderly are in pain with no medical care. We are constantly exposed to disease, weather, and the threat of violence. This is not life. This is survival.
There is no electricity. No sanitation. No toilets. No healthcare. We are surrounded by destruction, grief, and hopelessness. Every day, we wake up wondering if we will survive to the next. Every night, we try to sleep while the sounds of bombs and drones remind us that danger is always near.
We are not numbers. We are human beings. I am a father, a son, a brother. My family is made up of children, elders, and loved ones who want nothing more than to live in peace. We had lives, dreams, and dignity — all of which have been stripped away from us.
Please, if you are reading this, know that your voice and your help matter. A small donation can mean a meal for a hungry child. A shared post can raise awareness. A kind message can remind us we are not forgotten. The world cannot stay silent while so many suffer without shelter, without food, and without hope.
I am asking you, from one human to another: Please stand with us. Share our story. Support the organizations bringing aid. Demand an end to this suffering. Every act of kindness matters. Every voice can make a difference.
My name is Saeed, and I am still holding on. I am still hoping that the world will not forget the people of Gaza. We are still here. We are still alive. And we are asking for help.
