Hi everyone, my name is Nitro and I’m 14 years young. My mom rescued me off of social media. Thank god for social media !!! I was at a very high kill shelter in Kentucky. Want to know how I got there ? Well I was abandoned and found walking on a very dangerous highway and was scared. I was just a pup.
Thankfully this kind human picked me up and brought me to the shelter. However, this shelter was not a good place nor a forever place for me. But there was some nice people there that were keeping safe from something .. not sure what but I saw a lot dogs walk by me and not coming back to their kennels. So then I got this funny feeling my turn was coming and would hide in my kennel.
One day I saw someone different come to my kennel and they were so nice to me. I was taken out and I was put in a crate into this van. Me and some other dogs went for a long drive. It was such a long drive but kind of fun ! Finally we stopped. I thought it was to go for a walk but when I jumped out of the van, I saw a human with a big smile on her face .. I knew that was my furever mom !!!!! She saved me !!! I was so happy and she was hugging me so tight !!! Finally I was safe !!!
Mom has given me an amazing life, and I had other new siblings !!! It was so much fun. She has done so much for us and has brought me to so many places I never thought I would go. I’ve been to the beach, hiking, road trips and the list goes on and on.
Well here is the not so fun part. Recently I fainted and that is called a syncope episode. I think it has to do with my heart and I am very tired and coughing. My other sibling ( who unfortunately is no longer with us ) had the same issues I’m going through now. Mom brought me to the vet because she was worried I had what my sibling had and needless to say I did and was diagnosed with heart disease. I was put on Vetmedin and have to take that 2 times a day, it’s helps my heart. Well that medication isn’t cheap but mom don’t care she will do anything to help me feel better.
Now it kinda gets worse, I was feeling pretty good the other day, went for my walk, ate breakfast, took a nap , then it was time for another walk however I didn’t feel right and my leg hurt. It was weird. When I got up I felt dizzy. I think I may have had a slight stroke. Not sure. Now mom is really upset. More than likely I will have to see a heart doctor, called a cardiologist. And they have to do an ultrasound on my heart. Jeesh this sounds scary to me but I’m a strong boy.
I am really worried about mom. She is not working as much due to cutbacks at her job. So I am remaining strong for her and want fo make sure she’s ok. She made an appointment for me to go see my vet but she’s worried he won’t see me if he doesn’t take payment plans …
I really don’t want to leave my mom yet … nor my other 2 siblings. I think I will be ok when I go see my vet and the cardiologist so they can get me on the right medications.
If you could please donate any amount it would help so much. I know this isn’t going to be cheap and I don’t want to leave my mom just yet. They call it the rainbow bridge .. I am not ready for that bridge yet … I want to see mom happy again and I want to go back to the beach and go on my road trips with my siblings !
