My Name is Mildred (16mm Student Short)

Hello everyone! This is a fundraising page for our film ‘My Name is Mildred.’

 

My Name is Mildred follows a teenage girl, Mildred, who truly believes her old-lady-name is the reason she still hasn’t had sex. Mildred – or Millie as she prefers to go by – embarks on a ridiculous quest to lose her virginity but soon realises boyfriends aren’t all they’re cracked up to be.

 

My Name is Mildred navigates a girl dealing with insecurities, comparison to others, peer pressure to grow up, and ultimately her relationship with her mum. As we can all probably relate to, the first couple years of high school can be difficult – full of self-doubt and self-judgement – and we want to reflect these struggles in a way that is genuine, but also lighthearted and funny.

 

We have an incredible team of filmmakers on board for this project who are young and passionate, which is very exciting! The team so far includes João Souza (Producer), Anna Champion (Director), Zinnia Vroland (Director of Photography), Elowen Killion-Bridley (Sound) and Mia Vanderplas (Set Designer).

 

We are lucky enough to have the opportunity to shoot this project on 16mm film which is super exciting (but also expensive!).

We would be endlessly grateful for any contribution you could make to get this film funded! The money will go toward buying film, catering expenses, set design, travel, and festival entry fees.

 

We will thank all donations of $50 and above in the credits.
