I lost everything in a cyberattack. Today I live in a basement with my dog. Please help.
My name is Daniel. In December, I became the victim of a serious cyberattack on my device. I lost over twenty-five thousand euros – all my savings and capital.
The attack did not target the exchange directly. The exchange closed the case, saying their system was not breached. I reported everything to the police and have all the documentation.
I lost my job. I lost the ability to earn. From one day to the next, I became homeless.
Today, I live in a basement with my dog, whom I adopted five years ago. He is the only constant in my life.
The hardest part is that all of this happened at the worst time of the year: Christmas, New Year, and the birthdays of my loved ones. While everyone celebrated in warmth, I was fighting panic, fear, and a feeling of total helplessness.
There were moments when I didn’t see a way forward. But I am trying to recover.
I go to job interviews. I am learning about cybersecurity. I am trying to rebuild my life from zero. This fundraising campaign is a real chance for me to rent an apartment, ensure safety for myself and my dog, recover some financial stability, and return to normal work and life.
I am not asking for luxury. I am asking for a second chance. Every contribution, even the smallest, truly matters. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing my story.
Thank you to everyone who takes a moment to read my story. My name is Daniel.
