My Name is Bahar – and I want to live

I was born in Iran, but my first year of life was filled with pain. I don’t remember much joy — only fear, hunger, and hurt. I was just a puppy when they found me, my tiny body broken… one arm shattered, the other so badly injured that it couldn’t be saved. I lost it forever. I was only one year old.

But someone kind — an animal rights activist — found me and rescued me. They gave me my first taste of care and safety. And then, something unexpected happened. I was adopted by an elderly woman in Sweden. I flew far, to Gothenburg, hoping for a new beginning… for peace.

But life had other plans again.

The woman couldn’t care for me. I don’t blame her. Just like that. As if my life didn’t matter. As if I hadn’t already fought so hard to survive.

All doors were closing. I was so close to giving up.

But the world wasn’t done with me. Two kind souls — angels in the shape of a couple with warm velvet hearts — found my story on Instagram. They didn’t hesitate. They stepped in, and they saved me.

They brought me home. Not just a house — a real home. They gave me trust. They gave me warmth. They taught me what love means. For the first time, I felt safe. I felt like family.

Soon, I’ll turn two years old.

And this week, I received some amazing news: I’m finally eligible for surgery — the operation that could give me a better life, more comfort, and more freedom. My parents were overjoyed. So was I. But… there’s one thing still in the way.

Because I was adopted and came here with an injury, the insurance won’t cover my surgery. ( it will cost 75000 SEK)

So now I need help — your help.

Even a small contribution from you could change my life. I’ve fought so hard to live. I’ve survived when I had every reason to give up. And now, I just want to walk with less pain… to run freely like other dogs… to live the life I’ve always dreamed of.
