My Mothers and I Alzheimers Fight

My mother is the best mother in the world, but now it's my time to help her be as comfortable as possible with the awful disease that has consumed our lives. My mother has Alzheimer disease, and we are fighting it together. She was diagnosed with this horrible disease about a year ago and she now needs 24/7 supervision. Eventually, I know she will need to be put into a long term care facility, but right now I honestly do not feel that she is ready. She still has some good days, but they are increasingly far and few between. It is very hard for me to ask, but I need financial help to pay for past and current medical expenses, current Home Health care and future long term care.
 
This disease has put me in a bit of a conundrum in the fact that I need to either quit my job and take care of her full time (which seems impossible) or continue working but have to pay for 24/7 supervision. I have been lucky enough to have neighbors and friends sit with my mother while I am at work for pennies on the dollar of what an in-home nurse would make. Unfortunately, it would be irresponsible of me to only rely on these people who, out of the goodness of their hearts, have helped me. They have their own families to take care of but still find time to help me and my mother.
 
In addition to the Alzheimer’s, she is also suffering from Diabetes, high blood pressure and may soon need a hip replacement surgery. Going through this as an only child has become increasingly difficult when your support system is now the one who needs the help.
 
Whether you can spare a penny or twenty dollars, I cannot thank you enough for helping me and my mother through what is becoming an increasingly difficult time in our lives.
