Help Keiko Rebuild Her Life After Losing Everything in a Devastating Fire

This is my mother:

My name is Wilmen "Keiko." I am 62 years old, and for most of my life I have believed in working hard, staying independent, continuing to learn, and helping others whenever I could.

Three years ago, after my divorce, I had to rebuild my life from almost nothing. Through determination and years of hard work, I earned my Florida Real Estate license, became licensed in Life Insurance, continued building my photography business, and recently began a new career in Construction Project Management. My goal was to keep growing professionally, earn my Project Management certification, and build a secure future through my own work.

I wasn't waiting for life to get easier—I was working to make it better.

Then, on June 19, 2026, a devastating fire destroyed my home.

I escaped with my life, but I lost approximately 85% of everything I owned. My home, furniture, clothes, personal belongings, important documents, and most of the professional photography equipment I had spent years building were gone.

I had also been creating a small photography studio with cameras, lenses, lighting, and audio equipment that would allow me to expand my business. Most of it disappeared in a single night.

Some belongings survived, but every item must be cleaned, sorted, and packed before it can be placed into storage. This has become my full-time job. Every hour spent trying to save what remains is an hour I cannot spend earning an income.

A few days after the fire, my car also broke down. Thankfully, an incredibly kind mechanic repaired it and refused to charge me after learning what had happened. His generosity reminded me that even in the darkest moments, there are still wonderful people in this world.

I have also been deeply touched by the kindness of friends, neighbors, fellow Realtors, coworkers, and volunteers who have helped me clean the property, donated essential items, shared this campaign, and encouraged me every step of the way.

Now I face another urgent challenge. The neighbors who welcomed me into their home can only host me temporarily, and I must soon find a new place to live while continuing to rebuild my life.

I am facing this journey alone. I am divorced, live by myself, and do not have a spouse or partner to help carry the financial burden of starting over. My daughter has supported me with love and encouragement, but she is also building her own future and cannot support me financially.

Your donation will help me secure housing, pay for storage, replace basic necessities, recover the professional equipment I need to work again, and cover essential living expenses while I rebuild.

If enough funds are raised, my dream is to once again own a modest mobile home like the one I had before the fire, giving me stability and a place to call home again.

I am not asking anyone to rebuild my life for me.

I am simply asking for the opportunity to rebuild it myself.

Com muito esforço, conquistei minha licença de corretora de imóveis na Flórida, obtive minha licença para trabalhar com seguros de vida, continuei desenvolvendo meu trabalho como fotógrafa e iniciei uma nova carreira como Gerente de Projetos na construção civil. Meu sonho era crescer profissionalmente, conquistar minha certificação em Project Management e construir um futuro sólido através do meu próprio trabalho.

Eu não estava esperando que a vida ficasse mais fácil. Eu estava trabalhando para torná-la melhor.

Então, em 19 de junho de 2026, um incêndio devastador destruiu minha casa.

Consegui escapar com vida, mas perdi aproximadamente 85% de tudo o que possuía: minha casa, móveis, roupas, documentos, objetos pessoais e a maior parte do meu equipamento profissional de fotografia.

Eu também estava montando um pequeno estúdio de fotografia, adquirindo câmeras, lentes, iluminação e equipamentos de áudio para expandir meu trabalho. Grande parte desse sonho desapareceu em uma única noite.

O que restou precisa ser limpo, separado e embalado antes de ir para um depósito. Esse trabalho ocupa meus dias inteiros e me impede de voltar a gerar renda.

Poucos dias após o incêndio, meu carro apresentou um problema mecânico. Felizmente, um mecânico extremamente generoso o consertou e se recusou a cobrar quando soube do que havia acontecido. Esse gesto me devolveu esperança.

Também recebi o carinho de amigos, vizinhos, colegas do mercado imobiliário, companheiros de trabalho e voluntários que me ajudaram fisicamente, fizeram doações, compartilharam esta campanha e me deram forças para continuar.

Agora enfrento um novo desafio: em breve precisarei deixar a casa onde estou hospedada temporariamente e encontrar um novo lugar para morar enquanto continuo reconstruindo minha vida.

Estou enfrentando tudo isso sozinha. Sou divorciada, moro sozinha e não tenho um companheiro para dividir esse peso financeiro. Minha filha me apoia com muito amor, mas também está construindo sua própria vida e não tem condições de me sustentar.

Sua contribuição me ajudará a encontrar uma moradia, pagar armazenamento para os bens que consegui salvar, substituir itens básicos, recuperar equipamentos de trabalho e cobrir despesas essenciais enquanto volto a trabalhar.
