My Mom's Cancer Treatment Fund

My wonderful mother has been my sole motivation and inspiration for all my 20 years. I can't imagine a more loving, caring and self-sacrificing person. She is my best friend, and she proves her love for us in the way she raised my brother and I, the way she cares for my dad and in the way she cares and looks out for her mom, her sisters and her nieces and nephews. She is the captain of our family. And when she wasn't home and at work at a daycare, she brought so much joy to the kids and parents because she treated them like family. She only gives and gives for her family and friends and never ever asks for anything in return. Everything me and my brother do feels so much more worth while because we have her in our corner always. We love her so much for that.

But the last two years have been more than a struggle. Just over two years ago my mom lost her dad, and the sorrow and hardship from this tragedy quickly took a toll on her.
And just over a year after, my mom was diagnosed with stage 3 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. But because of how so strong my mom is, she refused to take it lying down. But in the middle of her chemo treatment, her sister was struck by a car, sending her to the hospital, which brought so much more fear and heartache to our family, and left my mom feeling guilty that there was little she could do. But through sheer will, my mom beat the cancer with standard chemo, and all the while treating/preventing side affects with vitamin support at an alternative clinic.

But after a routine CT scan 3 months later (late February of this year), we found a mass in her chest and the lymphoma was back. But less than two weeks before discovering this news, my mom's brother in law passed away so suddenly from a heart attack, which has kept our entire family in constant sorrow ever since, and is making this cancer journey for my mom ever so troubling and far less tolerable.

I truly can't see how things can get any worse, and I constantly wish I could erase my moms memory of these awful tragedies. But again because of how strong she is, and because of how strong she wants to be for all of us, my mom is determined to win again and keep it away this time. After many appointments with different doctors and clinics, my mom came to the decision to refuse any more standard hospital treatment and has decided to move on to something different, yet very promising. Very soon, my mom will be starting an alternative treatment in an attempt to once again kill the cancer, but in a much more gentle way. This treatment is a single type of chemo ingredient combined with a drug that has been shown in years of research to protect your bone marrow and good cells, which will then allow your immune system to join in on the fight, rather than being wiped out and making you sick, like with conventional chemo.

But since this is an alternative treatment, it isn't covered, and it is very expensive. So I've decided to reach out to my  friends, family and anyone who sees this, to try to do something very special for her.. aside from feeding her as many vegetables as physically possible :)

Our doctor has informed us that we should not delay treatment because since she had a recurrence, we're not sure how agressive it is, so it will have to start ASAP, which means she will have to be prepared to begin paying for the treatment very soon. With all this in mind, she has no other choice to start the treatment to get well again.

I haven't told my mom about this campaign, and I'm hoping to be able to raise enough money to give her the suprise she truly deserves, because all she ever does is give.  Even throughout this cancer journey, my mom is constantly looking for ways to help and support her family in order to cope with all our losses and sorrows. She is always putting everyone before herself, and never asks for anything, which is why this campaign is the last thing she would think of, and I think that will make the suprise so much sweeter.

Every single donation, no matter how big or small will be so so appreciated, because any burden I can relieve her from during this journey is so so worth it.

As far as I know, personal thank-yous can be sent on this site, and if thats the case, that is exactly what I will do!

Thank you all!
