My mom has always been the kind of person who shows up for everyone else without hesitation. She is strong, selfless, and never one to ask for help—no matter how difficult things get. That’s what makes writing this so important. Recently, she was diagnosed with lung cancer and has been courageously fighting through treatment. She underwent surgery that came with unexpected complications, resulting in a month-long hospital stay. Since then, she has begun chemotherapy, which has taken a significant toll on her physically and emotionally. The side effects of treatment have made it incredibly difficult for her to work, and while her focus should be on healing, the reality of medical bills and everyday living expenses continues to weigh heavily on her.
