Thank you,for taking the time to just open and possibly read. Recently,my mom was diagnosed with oral cancer. She has never smoked,no history of cancer in the family,so it just came along on its own. In the next month, she will have to have about 3 months of chemo and radiation treatments,5 days a week. She has medical insurance,so we are hoping that the insurance will cover the majority of the treatments. What she doesn’t have,is short/long term disability insurance. So when she is out of work, there will be no funds coming in. I’m going to do my best to help take care of everything I can. I have some siblings, who I’m sure will help as well. Just like y’all,we still have our own families to take care of. That is what makes this so hard for me. I hate having to ask for help,I’m just not sure if it’s possible for me to take on another set of household bills for 4-6 months. A month or 2,yes,but we all know what these treatments do to a person. I guess things have to get worse, before getting better. My mom was woken,by some miracle,in the middle of the night, the day before her first treatment session. She smelled a burning smell and went to check it out. When she opened her bedroom door, she was overtaken by smoke,so thick already, that she had to crawl to get out. Her house was already in flames. It was a complete loss. Thank goodness she was able to get out and yell for my little brother to get out. By the grace of God,they made it out in time. Some family pets were not as fortunate.
