Hi, my name is Doreen Fowler aka Model Million, I’m an aspiring Dancehall Artist, and I was born and raised in Jamaica.

When hurricane Mellissa struck Jamaica, it left behind devastation that words can hardly describe. Homes were destroyed, families displaced, and while some areas are slowly receiving help, many smaller, remote communities have been completely forgotten.

The Hurricane left behind more than just wrecked homes and flooded streets—it’s left behind forgotten people.

From where I am in Toronto, Canada, I’ve been following every update. Watching the incredible work that other Artist and Celebrities are doing to help, and honestly at first, I felt helpless, I felt like I couldn’t do enough. But then I realized - I can do something. I do have influence. I have people who listen, who support, and who care.

Two weeks before the hurricane hit, I experienced a personal tragedy — I lost my brother in Falmouth. Now I’m preparing to return home to help plan his funeral. To make things even harder, I’ve learned that the funeral home where he’s resting was also damaged by the storm. The pain of losing him, combined with watching my country suffer, has been overwhelming. My birthday celebration that was planned on October 30th. I canceled that! party invites cancelled! How could I celebrate while my country was in turmoil. I was literally falling into depression. But instead of allowing it to break me, I’ve decided to act.

It took almost a week before I could hear from my family in Falmouth. That silence was agonizing. When I finally heard their voices and found out they were safe, I cried with gratitude. Their homes were damaged, but their lives were spared — and that’s a blessing I’ll never take for granted.

Still, so many others are not as fortunate. Across Jamaica, many smaller communities have been forgotten. Most relief efforts are going to the bigger towns, but there are rural areas — like the one I grew up in Ocho Rios, and others between Westmoreland and St. Elizabeth — that are still without light, water, communication, or aid. These are the people I want to reach — the ones the cameras don’t show, the ones rebuilding silently with nothing left.

I’ve started a small relief effort and have already mobilized a team who are already on the ground in Jamaica. We have a truck to transport supplies and a couple of bikes that can reach areas where cars and trucks can’t go. While they’re working locally, I’m here in Canada and have started gathering supplies like food, water, hygiene products, baby items and essentials etc. to ship directly to Jamaica. So that when I return for my brother’s funeral, I’ll personally help deliver them to the communities that have been left behind.

My goal is simple: to reach the people that have been forgotten. To be their help – their angel in this dark time.

I know trust is important, especially when it comes to donations. That’s why I’ll be sharing every step – from buying supplies to delivering them.

You’ll see exactly where your generosity goes. No middleman. No hidden costs. Just real action, real people, real love.

Every donation, no matter how small, goes towards filling that truck with life-saving essentials: food, clean water, baby supplies, hygiene kits, solar fans etc.

Even if you can’t give, please share this this message – that’s a form of giving too.

Together we can make sure no one is forgotten.

Thanks for your kindness, generosity and for helping to make a difference.

❤️- Model Million
