My Million Dollar Rock – My name isn't even important, but it's Maverick. A Ridiculous (but Real) Conservation Mission
I’m from Alaska, but now live in Idaho, and on the Fourth of July, I was hiking with my Dad when we came across this insane rock—about 20 feet tall, perfectly balanced on the side of a mountain.
He looked at it and said:
“That looks like a T-Rex skull.”
And now I can’t unsee it.
I filmed it, posted it on YouTube, and the internet went wild.
People said:
“Protect it.”
“Start a GoFundMe.”
“I would die for that rock.”
“It belongs in a museum—or a shrine.”
"It was placed by Aliens / Gods"
So… here we are.
This campaign is half joke, half serious.
I’m raising $1,000,000 to try and buy the land this rock sits on—or a nearby piece of land to preserve the area and build something awesome in honor of the rock.
If that exact land isn’t for sale, I’ll find a similar spot in the mountains and buy land to preserve in honor of this rock and dedicate it to what I’m calling “The Million Dollar Rock.”
Worst case? I build a shrine somewhere beautiful and name it after this one.
Donations will go toward:
Land purchase
Rock protection (fencing, signage, and maybe landmark status!)
Content and documentation of the entire journey
And yes… maybe a plaque that says:
“Saved by the Internet.”
A shrine.
A bench.
A statue of The Rock... next to the rock.
I don’t know. But I will honor it.
Let’s preserve the spirit of this ridiculous boulder.
Let’s make something weird, beautiful, and unforgettable.
Let’s save the rock.
Let’s make history.
Let’s be weird together.
