My Lupus Survival Story
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Shelly Griffith and I'm fundraising for my medical bills and transplant operation. I became ill at the age of 26 and was diagnosed with Lupus. Four years after my diagnosis I lost my kidney to the disease. I've been on dialysis for 21 years and now awaiting a kidney. Over the years I've had many operations from having 4 hip replacements. I have to get my left leg revised because the prosthetic is breaking out of the bone. I suffer from a heart condition that can lead to me having open heart surgery. Last year I was told I have legions in my spinal columns and might have to do chemotherapy. During all those years many bills from hospitalizations and operations became a bit overwhelming from all the medical expenses. But even in my darkest days I still always find the good in everything that I do. On most days I find myself laughing more than I cry. The joy of life is what keeps me going. This would mean a lot to me and my family with the help that would be provided and greatly appreciated since this has affected my life in so many ways. The funds contributed will be used to pay off my bills and medical expenses which will be a great relief to myself and my family from the debt that I have.
