My Lung Cancer Journey ❤️

Donation protected
Happy Monday! I hope the day finds you well - and well rested. My name is Kristen, I’m 45 and I’m currently living with lung cancer. I have never smoked in my life but hey - these are the cards I was dealt. My journey technically 11/4 when I get the call that my biopsy came back as cancer. Stage 2. I was under the impression that we’d remove the right lower lobe and all would be fine.. little did I know. I had to wait weeks to find out what kind of chemo I would be given and it came back as regular chemo via IV. First treatment was 1/24 and I did not respond well.. I developed mouth sores, sore gums, rashes on hands, etc.. and that was just outward stuff.  Believe me - I wouldn’t have won any beauty contests
Since the 1st treatment I also got pneumonia and ended up in hospital for 4 days. That was challenging to say the least. I am now out and feeling stronger every day. I now live by the philosophy that every day above ground is a good one!! On top of all of this I used all my leave balance at work, haven’t been paid in almost 6 weeks.. also no disability yet. That’s another story all on it’s own that I’ll update at a later time. Ohhh - and to top it off since I’m not getting paid, my insurance isn’t getting paid and I’m about to have to start spending a pretty penny on that.
I am forever greatful though for the awesome group or friends and family that I have supporting me. My friend Karyn, Rajni, Selina, Mills, Mary, Lety, Patty, Bri My supervisor currently and old.. it’s been amazing. You really find out who strong in your time of. I also have the support of online friends around the world that I appreciate beyond measure. I was asked a couple times if I was going to do a GoFundMe and I had a hard time doing it. I feel lucky that I still have a roof over my head and a job to go back to when I come out on the other end of it. I’m going to wrap this up because eyes are hurting and I need to rest. I leave you with this.. a quote from my fav checker @ the 1.25 store.. she ends her sale with “Have a Blessed day - on Purpose” ❤️
