My loving mother's fight against cancer
Donation protected

On November 2nd, my loving mother was diagnosed with cancer. Her fight is just beginning, and it is with a heavy heart to ask for help winning this battle. My mom is the most selfless woman that I know, and puts everyone around her as her first priority. In doing so, she neglects herself at times, and forgets just how important her health truly is. The hardest thing for her to do was tell her loved ones she has cancer because she didn’t want us to be sad. This beautiful, caring woman found out she has cancer and the FIRST thing she was worried about was telling us and how we would handle it. I hope that gives you an idea of exactly what kind of person she is. She is my entire world, my whole heart, and my best friend. I couldn’t imagine life without her. I’m doing everything I can to make this difficult time easier for her. The last thing she needs to worry about is finances when her life is at risk.
She was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer (Adenocarcinoma of the Endometrium). This specific type of cancer has a high cure rate and can be easily treated if detected early. Although that is good news, it quickly becomes awful news when she is unable to afford the treatments that are necessary. We are currently unaware what stage the cancer is at until further testing can be done. It is an urgent matter, and we can only do so much at this time because of our financial situation.
Cost of treatment estimates is nearly $20,000. This does not include her hospitalization, hysterectomy, the potential need for chemotherapy and radiation after surgery, complications that can arise, and loss of income during this time. Our goal is $20,000 as of right now because the future expenses have not been determined yet. The thought of my mother not receiving the care she needs because of financial struggles is a devastating scare.
She is a self employed caregiver. She currently works 6, sometimes 7, days a week caring for the elderly, just to get by. She does not have health insurance, and would be going into this as self paid. My mother is overwhelmingly stressed and a big portion of that is finance related. We can’t move further until we have the money to do so. I wish more than anything that I could single-handedly afford to pay for all of her medical expenses outright, but unfortunately I cannot. I would do anything for this woman, and that is exactly why I am taking it upon myself to create this GoFundMe for her. My mom is always thinking of others, and I hope that this shows her that others are thinking of her.
Any donation towards her medical expenses or acknowledgment of her battle against cancer would mean the absolute world to her, and my family during these trying times. All of the donations will go straight to my mother's bank account, and put towards her medical bills at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. I am asking that you please share this and be apart of my mom’s journey. No one should feel alone. After reading this, make sure you hug those you love dearly a little tighter than usual. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. For those of you that care enough to read through all of this, I am forever grateful you exist. You are the good in this world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sending you all my love and appreciation for your support.
Please enjoy this wholesome picture of my mom smiling big and bright after graduating college 5 years ago at the age of 45. (:
