It’s with great sadness, I am having to write this, Peter recently passed in the early hours of the 21st of June in Gran Canaria after being diagnosed with cancer only two days before, at the age of 72.

Peter came to Gran Canaria to look after me after I had a fall and broke my hip but unfortunately travel insurance had lapsed as he needed stayed longer than first expected. As a family we were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral or repatriation.

There was no funeral plans in place due to the fact that Peter’s wishes were that his body would be donated to science to help people in the future. Unfortunately, the authorities in Gran Canaria are not in a position to accept his body and reparation costs are way too high. So we would like to hold a funeral service and cremation in Gran Canaria.

Peter was a loving husband to me and stepdad and grandad to my children and grandchildren. He loved all sports especially rugby league played for Wakefield Trinity as a young man. He also loved football and was avid Leeds United fan.

We would love to give Peter the memorial and send off he deserves to honour his memory and say our last goodbyes.

Therefore, I am asking friends and family if they could make any donation to help me raise a cost of £1500 by Tuesday 25th of June as Spanish custom is to hold a funeral within a few days of the passing.
