My Loving Husband and I Need Your Help.

It all started when we were caring for his mother who was in very poor health. He had to stop working
as a commissioned carpet and drapery cleaner to care for her full time, which was a burden to our own finances. Unfortunately, we ended up filing bankruptcy, which has since been discharged. After his mother passed away, everything started to go wrong with his health.
First, my husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer and needed to have radiation treatments and other related care and treatment.
He also went to a dermatologist for a cyst on his ear that kept growing larger and larger. This was during the first outbreak of COVID. By the time he found a doctor who would treat him, the cyst had gotten quite large. It was diagnosed as cancer and they ended up removing half of his ear.
He then went to an oncologist and learned that had skin cancer on his nose and the back of his head. He was now dealing with prostate cancer and skin cancer in three places.
Part of his cancer treatment was provided over the course of 25 visits at the cost of $20,000 each. We were so grateful that the billing department found some help with that expense. But even with that help, we were slowly sinking into a financial pit and the health issues were mounting up.
After the treatments were done, during a head scan, the oncologist found a spot on his brain. He then sent him to have cyber knife treatments to have it removed. Afterwards, they had him undergo more radiation.
This all took place over the course of the last three years. This year has proved to be the most difficult of all. In January 2023, he had lost the feeling in his left arm while he was working at his job. His wonderful boss rushed him over to Spring Valley Hospital where they admitted him for a couple of days. They told him it was not a tumor, and that it was scar tissue from the cyber knife procedure. However, in June 2023, he began having seizures. I was afraid that he was having a stroke and I took him back to the hospital, who then moved him to another hospital via ambulance. They ran tests and told me that his brain was so swollen that it shifted his brain 10 cm over the midline. They keep him in there for 8 days. He was taken off his blood thinners, while he was in the hospital and scheduled for brain surgery in 30
days for a mass on his brain the size of a tangerine. They also had difficulties with inserting a catheter due to some stones.
A week after discharge from the hospital he was having trouble breathing, so I rushed home from work and took him back to another emergency hospital. He now has blood clots in his lung and the back of his knee. He has now been in the hospital for another 6 days. They are trying to dissolve the blood clots
with blood thinners and he is still on the seizure medication which is making him feel disconnected from his brain.
Since he is unable to work, he had not been able to earn a paycheck and he doesn’t have sick-pay or other benefits from his job. I am trying my best to pay his bills and mine but it’s been very difficult being on only one income. This has been a struggle for both of us, emotionally, physically, and financially. Our total out-of-pocket medical expenses to date and projected total about $_9,100_out of pocket MAX__________ and I haven't included the rent and other bills that we will need to pay . I have not been able to pay hardly anything yet because I’m just trying to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. And due to his current condition, I don’t know when he can start earning money again.
My husband has always been a good Christian man and helps his church as head usher. He loves God and Jesus, and he prays daily. He has always been there to help anyone who needs it, no matter what their situation is. Please find it in your heart to help us. This ANGEL took care of his mother for 15 years and now he is the one in need of help.
I am asking for anything you can do to help us pay these medical bills and our regular expenses such as rent so that we can avoid being homeless. We are senior citizens and we cannot afford to be without housing or to have our wages garnished for hospital bills. And filing bankruptcy again is not an option because of our recent filing.
Please help. We are in great need. May God bless you and keep you in his heart.
