I’m Nina. I have spent the last 34 years with this man, married for 32 of them. ♥️ As happens in life Brian and I have been through a lot of highs and lows and loved each other greatly no matter what.
Nearly 15 years ago he was in a serious car accident that left him with a spinal injury and a migraine that never went away. This left him unable to work. Since that time he has developed dementia and within the last 3 months his eating has declined drastically and he is living mostly on liquids now. He is now immobile, in home hospice, and I expect to lose him any day.
Knowing his life is being cut short we had arranged to donate his body to science with MedCure in Oregon. They would pick up his body, use his body tissues and examine his brain for Lewy Body Dementia, then cremate his remains and send him back to me. Due tothe COVID-19 pandemic MedCure is no longer picking up patients for the purpose of science.
Having had no insurance, savings and no salary, except disability, for these past years I am now at a loss for what to do and I’m very worried about how to take care of end of life expenses. Honestly, I hate asking for help but I desperately need it. This is the only way I know to go about asking for it. Any donation, even $5, would be extremely helpful and so appreciated.
Thank you so much for reading our story.
