My little brother's medical care and expenses

My little brother had an accident on March 20,2022 that left him in critical condition ruptured 3 discs in his neck, and broke 3 of his vertebrae bones. He had to have a tracheotomy to help with breathing, along with a feeding tube for food.

 

David’s surgery was successful although, he could not feel or move his legs and fingers after surgery. The doctors gave us hope and he was transported to the best rehabilitation center in Nj to help regain his strength and mobility.

 

Sadly, David became ill with pneumonia at the rehabilitation center after 10 days of treatment. He was then transported  a nearby  hospital to treat the pneumonia. It took 2 weeks to clear the pneumonia and another week fighting with the insurance company to get him transported back into rehabilitation for treatment again.

 

Finally, he was approved and cleared to go back to the rehabilitation center, but the night before his departure...fluid got caught up in his trachea..he was unable to clear his own throat and couldn’t breathe...the loss of oxygen caused a heart attack.

 

Despite these setbacks, my brother is still here fighting for his life and for his beautiful family. His wife Rosa gave up her job to drive an hour to and from the hospital everyday...to help care for him. And their beautiful 10yr old daughter Ariana.

 

David is 38yrs old. He is a loving father and husband with a sweet soul. Always, willing to help others in need. Not to mention, he is brilliantly smart especially, when in comes to technology. David is also, a talented horse farrier.. one of the best in his business field. He used his hands to craft shoes for horses and his body to shoe them on the horse's hooves.

 

This tragedy has left him and his beautiful, wife Rosa without work.

They are now faced with big medical expenses.

It is not in our nature to ask for financial support, but we want to make sure David has the best possible care once he is discharged from the hospital (beyond the limited coverage of his insurance).

We are already so grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and good wishes from everybody in David’s life. 

We firmly believe that all of the positivity we have received in the past few weeks has given David the strength to continue fighting. 

It might be a long road ahead, but David is a resilient fighter, and he will make it through this stronger than ever. We continue to pray and hope for miracles. Thank you all. ❤️
