My little brother was STABBED!

Patrick, my younger brother lives down in pontiac where he's a cook at a golf course and loves his job and the people he works with, well on Jun 20th he was camping and enjoying a night after disk golf while minding his own business when he saw someone with a knife and threatening several other people. He came to the aid of the unknown people where he tried talking the perp down and failed to defuse the situation.
His act wasn't out of wanting to be a hero he just didn't want to see anyone hurt, he was stabbed twice one just by his heart where it hit a major artery and also sliced one of his lungs main intakes for oxygen the other wasn't as serious, the combination of these two stabbings put him into intensive care and several hours of surgery where they had to perform open heart surgery and replace part of that lungs air intakes with an artifical tube.
The perp was arrested and is facing hard time.
What I'm asking for from anyone willing and able to keep my brothers head above the water regarding bills and medical expenses for his recovery due to the extensive time it's going to take him to get back on his feet would be deeply appreciated.
