My life got saved by 8 men who don’t even know me
Donation protected
Hi my name is Kieran,
For those that do not know I nearly lost my life this year in Morocco.
In November I raised money running a marathon I wasn’t prepared for. This time round I want to do another raise for these men who allowed me to be able to do this. This time it’s in the London Marathon and not on my own.
For those that don’t know what happened:
In brief, I was trekking in the Atlas Mountains when a 150-200kg boulder came loose. It struck me on the head and sent me tumbling 20 feet down. The boulder then rolled down on top of me breaking my hip, rupturing my ligaments from my knee bowing backwards, and piercing a wound where I broke my hip, causing me to bleed out to which I lost a pint of blood. I had internal bleeding in my abdomen and when I arrived to a hospital nearly 7 hours later they performed life saving surgery. I spent two weeks in hospital, five of those days being in intensive care with 3 blood transfusions needed.
I would never had made it off that mountain if it wasn’t for the 8 men who selflessly trekked up with a makeshift stretcher, 2 rugs and ropes to trek me down for over 2 hours after.
I owe my life to these men and I want to go back next year (2024) to gift them something back that will make a huge difference to their quality of life, even it’s something small to us, it is monumental to them.
Would love to raise as much as possible for them.
Thank you for any donations that you’re able to give
Warmest regards
Kieran
