Help Me Fight for My Life and Recovery
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Niwton Vladimir Alcántara Alcántara, and today, I am reaching out to you not just as a patient, but as someone fighting for his life. I have always been a determined and hardworking person. I studied engineering, built dreams for my future, and took pride in the path I was creating. But in May 2013, everything changed when I was diagnosed with acute kidney failure. Suddenly, my future became uncertain, and I had to face a reality I never expected.
For years, I fought to save my kidneys, following strict diets and clinging to hope. But by December 2017, I had no choice but to start dialysis. Since then, my life has been a constant battle—enduring pain, exhaustion, and an overwhelming financial burden. Dialysis is not just a treatment; it is a daily struggle that takes a toll on both my body and spirit.
Recently, my fight has become even more difficult. I suffered a severe foot injury that has made mobility an even bigger challenge. Dialysis has already weakened my bones, and now, with my foot in need of extra care, I face even more difficulties in getting to my treatments. The cost of medical care, medications, and transportation has become overwhelming for my family and me.
The truth is, I can’t work anymore due to my condition, and every month, we struggle to afford the treatments that keep me alive. My only real chance at a better life is a kidney transplant. But the cost—1,600,000 DOP (around $28,500 USD)—is far beyond what we can manage alone. That’s why I am humbly asking for your support.
Here is a breakdown of my monthly expenses:
- Dialysis: 5,500 DOP
- Bone Treatment: 42,393.10 DOP
- Medications: 41,946 DOP
- Transportation: 25,500 DOP
- Diet and Lab Tests: 11,100 DOP
- Total Monthly Expenses: 130,246.43 DOP (~$2,300 USD)
Your support—whether through a donation or by sharing my story—can make all the difference. Every contribution brings me one step closer to receiving a transplant, healing my foot, and reducing the pain and limitations I face daily.
I am not asking for a handout; I am asking for a chance to fight for my life and regain my independence. With your help, I can keep pushing forward, and one day, I hope to live free from the burden of dialysis and injury.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your generosity means the world to me. May God bless you for your kindness and support.
Together, we can make hope a reality.
