New Educational Program Launches in Lewisville, TX

Sisters, LaTashia Sherrod, and LaQueshia Jeffries honor their family legacy, as the great-granddaughters of late MississippiCivil Rights Activists P.D. and Foda Sherrod; with L.E.A.P. Academy, an educational non-profit. L.E.A.P. Academy, which stands for Leveraging Every Asset Possible, is partnering with North Texas organizations such as United Way of Denton and Help Me Grow North Texas and others to provide safe and affordable child care and developmental resources for families.
L.E.A.P. Academy launches June 2021 with the Summer CONNECTIONS camp located near the intersection of Round Grove Road & Stemmons Freeway (I-35E) in Lewisville, TX. The 8-week camp will provide learning blocks in math and language arts daily, as well as, socio-emotional lessons, opportunities for creative arts and STEM activities for children who have completed Kindergarten through 6th grade.
This in-person small group camp of up to 50 students will focus on positive connections, creativity, and social skills for students who have endured a year and a half COVID-related quarantine, stressors, and adjustments to daily life.

L.E.A.P. Academy’s inaugural summer camp seeks to help students develop positive peer relationships, provide summer enrichment experiences, and increase off-screen learning. Inquiries for additional information can message us.
