Hello Everyone,
About two months ago or so my mother in law started complaining about having pain in her stomach. She was taken to the Metropolitan Hospital twice and was told it was nothing serious so they sent her home without doing any medical tests. She does not have legal papers so we think that's why they did not listen to her. About 3 weeks ago the pain got worse so this time we took her to the New York Presbyterian, all doctors worked as much as possible to find out why she had this much pain. Within a couple of days of a lot of tests, pain killers, etc, they felt a bump near her back. The doctors did a biopsy to get more answers because it did not look normal to them since it was pretty big.
We Finally got the results back from the biopsy and it turned out to be cancer. A cancer that is really bad and rare called RETROPERITONEAL SARCOMA. At this point she is considered to be in stage IV, the tumor is as big as a watermelon and is spreading more thorough out her body, affecting the rest of her organs. The doctors tried to treat it as fast as possible but it was already too late, the only option they gave us is to keep her under a lot of medication and wait for the moment to happen. We wish we could know exactly how long she has left with us but unfortunately the doctors cannot give us that answer.
Today we are asking for your help to help us make her last wish come true. Before going into the hospital she said "if they leave me here take me back home." Meaning that she wants her body to be sent to Mexico where she was born so her mother can see her for one last time since they haven't seen each other for more than 30 years. We will have a funeral here in the city so friends and family can say their last goodbyes this will cost around $5000. After the funeral her body will be sent to Mexico where we have to give another $3000 to cover the cost of a second funeral and all paper work where she will be buried to finally rest. We understand these are some hard times due to the pandemic but anything helps even if its a $1.
Thank you for taking the time in reading this and for donating.
