Help Me Save My Cat From Life-Threatening Urinary Blockages

Hi, my name is Angel. I’m 22 years old, a full-time college student, and working as much as I can to support my single mother. Life hasn’t been easy, but I’ve always tried to stay strong and keep moving forward.

A few days ago, my beloved cat experienced a life-threatening urinary blockage and had to be hospitalized for 48 hours. I was relieved to bring him home, but within hours he was blocked again. I rushed him to the emergency vet once more, terrified of losing him.

Now, the emergency bills are piling up, and the vets estimate that aftercare and potential future procedures could cost between $5,000 to $10,000. I’ve done everything in my power—applied for loans, appealed to my pet insurance multiple times (which unfortunately denied coverage, despite a vet letter confirming this was not a pre-existing condition)—but I’ve run out of options.

This is my last resort. I feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and honestly, very embarrassed to ask for help. But I love my cat deeply—he’s my baby—and I can’t give up on him. Your support would go directly toward his medical expenses and continued care, and truly means the world to me.

Any contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to saving his life.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Angel

STORY OF WHAT HAPPENED BELOW:

This all happened when my vet realized an error on the SOAP notes, the tech wrote down incorrect information and insurance later on latched onto this error despite clarification on various occasions, link went in for a wellness check 2 days after his waiting period was over, insurance needed a checkup to have on file for his first veterinarian, we discussed if link had any issues eating, or going to the bathroom i said no but there was an instance that he ran out of his litter box and peed outside due to a really loud bang in my area due to ongoing construction.

The vet asked how long has the construction been going on for and i said "Is really spontaneous, sometimes they are here for a day or 2 and don't comeback for a couple days" but i gave her an estimate of the construction starting about a month ago, she did not see anything off and it just seemed like a situational accident rather than an ongoing issue which was the case there was not issue with him peeing at all at the time. Fast forward 4 months later link experiences a blockage, i submit the claim and get denied because the TECH states "Had been having issues peeing for a month" this immediately caught my attention because the only mention of "Month" was when the vet asked me how long ago did the construction start, not referring to how long Link has been having issues peeing for.

The vet obviously wrote me a letter apologizing because she did not catch it sooner and she did see the mistake and the inconveniences with it, she stated how 1 instance of accidental peeing outside of the box is extremely unlike to be related to something that happened 4 months later specially because cats can pee outside of the litterbox for various reasons, litter dislike, litterbox dislike or any other reason, obviously the insurance did not take the clarification into consideration and kept latching on to the error the TECH made despite numerous appeals.

Sharing the fundraiser would mean the world to me I appreciate everyone for the help and support, feel free to ask any questions.
