Hello everyone, my name is Reggie, and this GoFundMe is for my last dearest angel, my grandmother Esther.
My grandmother was born in a small area of Texas called Grapeland in April 17, 1930 and was the 7th child of 9 girls and 2 boys.
Later on during her early adult years, my grandmother moved to Los Angeles California during the 1950's where she began her life married with 4 children (3 boys and 1 girl) and an extensive professional background.
My grandmother worked for various employers over the years, but most notably, with the Los Angeles Unified School District at Pacoima Elementary with the School Yard Supervision.
Her commitment and involvement in communities across the San Fernando Valley was a driving force for herself and family.
During the 1980's my grandmother would be blessed with her first set of grandchildren including myself.
In September of 1985, my grandmother daughter was diagnosed with a mental disorder.
In full support of her daughter, my grandmother and grandfather stepped in as co-parents to help raise me, their grandson.
My grandmother would spend a total 40 years of her life supporting her daughter who was in and out of mental health hospitals.
Whether it was a hospital visit or a warm home-cooked meal, my grandmother never failed in her commitment to the wellness of her daughter.
During 2018 - 2019 my grandmother's brother whom she was very close to through childhood and adulthood had passed away.
My grandmother with unconditional love for her brother had generously given her one and only cemetery yard site to her brother in full faith that she would be blessed again through God's will.
In the year 2020 during covid-19, my grandmother's daughter who she fight so fiercely for had passed away from a stroke of the brain.
The pain of my grandmother having to burry her only daughter was immense however she remained strong through it all as they had both always lived together and were best friends through good times and bad.
Praying for a way to be able to honor her late beloved daughter, my grandmother was blessed by many colleagues and friends from various communities, to help honor the memory of her late daughter.
My grandmother would continue to remain committed to visiting her daughter this time at the cemetery.
A few years later, my grandmother would face some health challenges and be diagnosed with the degenerative disease known as dementia.
Although my grandmother's ability to remember was beginning to fade away rapidily, she would always say "I miss Darlene" (her late daughter).
This showed all of us that no matter how rapid her memory and physical condition were beginning to decline, she never forgot the pain of losing her only daughter.
Even while with dementia, my grandmother fought to remain strong through her physical therapy sessions.
While she was still us, I vowed to my grandmother that I will do everything within me to honor all 95 of her years with us, and lay her to rest next to her daughter.
Yesterday October 11, 2025, my protector, my source of will power and strength, and my last dearest angel, my grandmother Esther had past away.
During this very difficult time, I'm here on GoFundMe today to ask all of you for your support to help me honor all 95 years of the strongest woman I've ever known, my grandmother Esther.
Please do know, any and all donations will be heart felt by my family and I.
P.S. "Grandma my heart, my everyday, and my last of everything, although I'm still picking up the pieces of my broken heart rightnow, I can still feel your presence here with me spiritually as I type this for you. And just like you told me when my mother had passed, (sweetheart, we all will have to pay this price one great day).
"Well if that is the case then grandma, I will make sure that your great day will be for all of eternity with my mother".
Please kiss my mother for me grandma.
I still will love you always and forever,
Your grandson,
Reginald David King
