My Knee Is Still Trash

WOW wow wow I am so humbled and grateful and swooning, my friends. Thank you so very much.

Surgery seems to have went well. Even though it costs $100 to wake up in NYC, I am so taken care of and loved and I cannot express my gratitude properly. I'm down to using one crutch, and start my physical therapy journey tomorrow. I'm so excited to finally be healed up and ready to bike & party with y'all again. With your help, I'll be back to menacing both coasts in no time. Until then, thank you for your support and kindness; it has made a world of a difference.

Hey all. As most of you know, I’ve been on an almost 4 year journey of knee shenanigans. After blowing it out on a job, having a cartilage transplant fail, having to have that removed, and then a knee replacement… my ligament transplant also failed. This means that my body has reabsorbed the ligament and my kneecap is not stabilized, and is dislocating constantly.

This isn’t great for knees, or my replacement parts, so we are trying again. This is surgery #4.

I’ve been so incredibly lucky to have this covered by workers compensation, but unfortunately they do not replace your income in a meaningful way. For full transparency on what this means: Every surgery has cost me ~6k in lost income. It has resulted in me returning to work before my body could fully handle it. This will be my second surgery this year, and my fourth in 3 years. That’s $12k lost this year, and $~24k overall. I’ve made it work for awhile but I don’t think I’ve got it anymore

I’m beyond my own ability to cover all of my expenses for the next 2-3 months off work, and could use some help.
