My Final Year at The Juilliard School
Donation protected
I am entering my second and final year of a Graduate Diploma in Collaborative Piano at The Juilliard School in New York City.
Thanks to the generous support of many, I was able to successfully complete my first year. As the pandemic stretches on, and local sources of funding remain absent, I am once again asking for assistance in funding the remainder of my year. I have been awarded Juilliard's Leah Adler Scholarship which covers about 90% of my fees. As an international student, and given the circumstances with COVID-19 my earning capacity is very restricted. I am seeking funds to cover the cost of living in New York City, specifically
- Health Insurance
- Food
- Housing

I am aware of the enormous privilege and responsibility this opportunity holds. I am determined to use my time at Juilliard to relentlessly seek meaning in my music-making, beyond the rehearsal room or concert hall. This includes goals specific to my home country, South Africa: exploring ways to support the country’s immense vocal talent, elevate the role and importance of trained vocal accompanists, and promote the performance of art song.
