My Journey with HHT: Seeking Support for Treatment

Hello, my name is Luz I am an educator, a mother and a wife. Last year, my life changed when I was diagnosed with Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT), a rare genetic disorder that affects blood vessels and can lead to serious complications. Since my diagnosis, I have faced numerous challenges that have deeply impacted my daily life.

One of the most difficult aspects has been my struggle to breathe properly and remain physically active. Simple tasks that I once took for granted—walking, climbing stairs, or even standing for extended periods—have become exhausting. Chronic fatigue has become a constant companion, making it difficult to work, enjoy hobbies, or spend time with loved ones. The physical toll has also taken an emotional one, as I often find myself feeling isolated and discouraged.

Despite these challenges, I remain hopeful. There are treatments available that could significantly improve my quality of life, but the financial burden has made it difficult to access the care I need. Between medical appointments, treatments, and other necessary interventions, the costs have become overwhelming.
