In September 2025, I went in expecting a routine pre-op appointment for gallbladder surgery; however that visit changed everything. My lab results showed serious concerns -- reduced kidney function, blood in my urine, and elevated creatinine levels.
As a result, my surgery was canceled and I was referred to specialists to find out what was really happening. After weeks of appointments, travel, and extensive testing, I received a diagnosis that turned our lives upside down.
On November 13, 2025, I was diagnosed with ANCA-associated Vasculitis, a rare autoimmune disease that causes inflammation to blood vessels and it had already started causing damage to my kidneys bringing on the additional diagnosis of Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease. There is no cure for either diagnosis, but treatment offers hope for remission.
I am currently undergoing treatment, including infusion therapy and daily medications with the goal of slowing the diseases and protecting my kidneys from further damage. The treatment is necessary, but it also physically exhausting and financially overwhelming.
Due to the fatigue, brain fog, headaches and unstable blood pressure, this illness forced me to miss significant work. Everyday tasks became difficult and consistent income became uncertain - just as medical and living expenses continued to grow.
Chris and I started this GoFundMe to help cover medical bills, medications, and basic needs, allowing us to focus on healing. Any support big or small truly helps.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, for your prayers, kind words, and support. We are deeply grateful to everyone standing with us during this journey.
