Dear Beautiful People,

My name is Dafina Kuficha. I’m a 72-year-old mother, grandmother, and caregiver to my adult son. I have worn many hats, including that of doula, aromatherapist, licensed acupuncturist, community “Auntie Da,”

a woman who loves and appreciates family, chosen or blood. Auntie Da — a steady hand, a calm voice, a bringer of peace.

However, in January 2023, my world turned upside down. A late-night call told me my beloved son, Swann, had been shot four times and lay in critical condition at an emergency hospital across the country. I was on that plane in a flash and never looked back. Before leaving, I phoned the hospital praying to hear his voice and that he would hear my voice. His nurse was his angel. She fulfilled my fervent wish. I told him, “Stay alive. I’m on my way.” By God’s grace, he survived!

After that night and especially after extensive hospital and rehabilitation stays, I became his full-time caregiver. He has spinal cord injury, resulting in paralysis, infections, surgeries, and countless other hospital stays. I left behind my home, my business, and my income to keep him alive and to keep faith alive. Now, after two long years, my son is regaining independence — and it’s time for me to begin my own healing and rebuilding.

My Goal: $30,000 to Rebuild a Life and a Calling

My savings was fully depleted during this time, having to move my home and car across the country and live daily without any extra income. Both of our benefits have been significantly reduced.

What Your Contribution Supports:

My physical and emotional recovery (medical care, rest, and holistic healing)

Medical and dental bills that total $20,000 incurred since October 2023

(I went through huge dental trauma for 8 mos. in the midst of everything else.)

Monthly housing expenses through April 2026 when lease ends (includes utilities = $10,200)

Travel support to accompany my son during his move

Professional help to rebuild, restore, relaunch my online store.

Her proposal is approximately a $1,200 investment which includes, but is not limited to:

1. Improved cataloging and navigation (including revising the menus)

2. Revised product descriptions,

3. An optimized homepage

4. An email program in place to continue promoting my brands and products to my customer base.

Supplies and tools to restock I Treasure ME™, also includes labels, a printer, bulk supplies, replacement of laptop

Storytelling, outreach, and new offerings for community wellness

At 73 today, I’m ready to restore my strength, relaunch my business and have the funds needed for supplies, etc., and to reconnect with my calling from a place of grace and gratitude.
