My injured hand needs your helping hand.

A regular workday changed my life in just seconds.

On Monday, May 19, at the end of my shift painting apartments —as I do every day to earn a living— I suffered a serious accident.

While cleaning the paint sprayer, it suddenly discharged, forcefully injecting not only paint, but also air and bacteria into the index finger of my right hand —my most important tool for work.

What first seemed like a minor wound quickly turned into a medical emergency.

On Tuesday, May 20, I underwent emergency surgery to address not only the physical damage, but also a severe infection that put my entire hand —and my life— at risk.

Today, my finger is at risk of being amputated due to the severity of the injuries, as shown in the images.

Specialist doctors have done everything possible to save my finger, my hand, and my life. The pain is intense. I require not only full immobilization, but also specialized medical care, ongoing treatment, and therapy.

But under these circumstances, I am unable to work or earn any income —which has left me in an even more difficult and overwhelming situation.

I am a self-employed worker. My hands are my livelihood.

This accident has paralyzed me both physically and financially.

That is why I’m asking for your help.

Un día de trabajo como cualquier otro cambió mi vida en segundos.

El lunes 19 de mayo, al final de mi jornada pintando apartamentos —como lo hago cada día para ganarme el sustento— sufrí un grave accidente.

Mientras lavaba la máquina rociadora de pintura (sprayadora), esta se disparó inesperadamente, inyectando a alta presión no solo pintura, sino también aire y bacterias directamente en el dedo índice de mi mano derecha, mi herramienta más importante de trabajo.

Lo que parecía una herida menor se convirtió rápidamente en una emergencia médica.

El martes 20 de mayo fui intervenida quirúrgicamente de urgencia para atacar no solo los daños causados también una infección grave que pusiera en riesgo toda la mano y mi vida.

Hoy, mi dedo corre riesgo de ser amputado por la gravedad de las lesiones, como puede verse en las imágenes. Los médicos especialistas han hecho todo lo que está en sus manos para salvar mi dedo, mi mano y mi vida el dolor es intenso por lo que necesito no solo la inmovilización total de la mano también necesito atención médica especializada tratamiento médico y terapia pero en estas circunstancias no puedo trabajar ni generar ingresos, y eso me ha puesto en una situación aún más muy difícil y complicada.

Soy trabajadora independiente. Mi sustento depende de mis manos.

Este accidente me ha paralizado física y económicamente.

Por eso te pido ayuda.
