My Husband’s Ears!

My wonderful husband, Jeremiah, has a birthday approaching on August 1st. I am creating this fundraiser for him as a surprise gift of a new set of “ears,” or hearing aids. As many may know,  Jeremiah was born with poor hearing and dealt with it his whole life. From early on, he struggled in school because he couldn’t hear well enough. He shares about how he was/is often the “butt of the joke” because he doesn’t always hear what is being said around him. But most importantly, I believe he is missing out on one of the greatest gifts that we (myself included) take for granted- our ability to hear. Not only everyday conversations but the voices of his children and the sounds of our soon-to-be-born son’s giggles (okay, and screams....)
Jeremiah is in need of a new set of hearing aids that will allow him to participate in normal conversations, appreciate the sounds of day to day living, and prevent him from holding back his own ideas and thoughts due to fear of continuously being misunderstood. I battled with the decision to create this page because I don’t like asking for help. Neither does Jeremiah. However, I know that those of you who know him know how much he has battled with this challenge and I want him to know that even the smallest disability could never define who he really is and what he has to share with the world. Thanks for considering a small donation towards a tremendous life change for my very best friend.
