Greg Jones needs our help to remain independent!

Gregory Jones was born with Spina Bifida and is paralyzed below the knee and confined to a wheel-chair. He uses crutches only to transfer from the back of his van to the driver's seat. After suffering and managing pressure sores for most of his life, mainly on his feet, Greg developed an infection in his left heel bone. Several doctors recommend amputation below the knee to prevent the infection from spreading and possibly taking his life. Surgery will be Thursday, October 1st. Greg will no longer be able to transfer himself with crutches into his vehicle. He will need a ramp or lift. The van he is driving has over 100,000 miles and is too old to convert for his needs. A Used handicap accessible van sells for $30,000 or more. Greg is employed at U.S. Custom and Border Protection and would like to continue working after his surgery and remain independent. He will also need his bathroom remodeled because he has been struggling with a standard tub-shower enclosure. When I met Greg in 2011, I was impressed by his independence, strength, wisdom, and positivity. He rarely complains about being disabled, and he chooses to work. Any donation will be deeply appreciated! Thank You!!
