Thornton district in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica, along with my husband’s mother’s house, was completely destroyed by Hurricane Melissa. This has left 5 people homeless. Everything they had—furniture, clothing, food, shelter, and a sense of security—was destroyed. The damage is so severe that the house is no longer livable.

My husband, who was visiting his mother in Jamaica when the hurricane hit, was injured but thankfully alive. I am doing my best to help them start picking up the pieces and rebuilding.
