My name is Alisha and ive set this go fund me up for my ex race horse star she is a french trotter and is almost 19 years old, lots of people who know about my story have advised me to do this go fund me and although ive always said no as i feel embarrassed to ask anyone for anything but i have almost owned star (and Bambi) for nearly a year now and have spent a lot of money so far on trying to get her right again....Bambi is currently very healthy and he is thriving but star is not doing so good.....

I first see star at a horse fair and it made me and my mum feel bery sad she was very malnourished could only see her bones she had no water no hay and was tied up for the whole day she also had a foal at foot (at the time he was 4 weeks old and who we have now named bambi) we checked on them throughout the day on the hopes we could see who owned them but not once did we see anyone go to them at all...once we left the horse fair we could not get star and bambi out of our minds so i started digging and within a few days i found a man who said he had brought star and bambi that day from the horse fair, straight away i asked if he would sell them he gave me a price and i scrapped the money together (thanks to my mum/dad/sister) this was july 2025...the day they walked off the horse box we could have cried but i told star and bambi that day they was now home with me for life and i promised star i would never give up on her no matter what...since the day she come i have had the farrier to sort horrendous feet out, the dentist to sort her teeth out and to take a half hanging tooth out (she must have been so sore and uncomfortable eating) ive spoken to several nutritionist to get her on the right feed, she has been tested for cushings (lucky that come back clear) she has had 2 blood tests done that come back inflammatory she then had 1 full blood work done that come back chronic liver damage and she is dehydrated, ive been spending almost £150 every couple of weeks on her feed thats without all the supplements and hay as well, she also had a blood test for worms as well that come back high burden (been treated for this) ive had the vet out quite a few times to her now and the vets bills are getting very very expensive each time but i would never ever regret getting star (and bambi) the vet has said to change her feed, give her different supplements to what she was having and to give her liver flush and see now she is in a months time....currently she has barley put any weight on since the day i got her vets advice was to wean bambi early at months to give star the best chance (which we did) but its not made much of a difference to her weight when i got her she was drinking a lot of water but for a few weeks now she hasn't been drinking much water anymore so i am working with the vets with this as well to try and get her to drink more, because i want to get star healthy and loving life again and im despite to fulfilling my promise to her and i am now giving in and doing this go fund me to see if anyone can help me with all her future vet bills i have paid every vet bill so far but i do currently only owe for the last vet bill just recently which im currently trying to pay, im also wanted to get the vets to get some fluids in to her which this can be very costly....im not asking for any money to come to me personally i would give it straight to my vet. im more then happy to give over my vets details etc to anyone who would prefer it going straight to them so you know its for star only. even if you can give a small amount i would be very very forever grateful but if you can't thats fine but please could you share this?
