“From Survival to Self-Belief: Help Me Start My Home Busines

Asking for help doesn’t come naturally to me, but I’m at a point in life where reaching out is the only way forward.
Over many years, I’ve endured some incredibly difficult challenges — from serious health scares like a pulmonary embolism, septicaemia, lung surgery, and cancer, to personal struggles that have left lasting scars.
I’ve been grateful for the support of my husband, mum, my big sister, my kids, and some close friends along the way. But some of the hardest moments — especially during the height of Covid when I faced hospital stays alone — tested me in ways I couldn’t have imagined.
Though I’m physically healthier now, the emotional aftermath — PTSD and panic disorder — means that traditional work outside the home isn’t an option.
What keeps me going is a dream: to build a small home business that brings me joy, purpose, and pride. Something born out of resilience, hope, and the desire to create a stable, meaningful life on my own terms.
I’m trying to raise £400 to get the materials I need to start this new chapter. Asking for help is hard, but this is more than just a fundraiser — it’s a step toward healing and independence.
At 43, starting over feels overwhelming, but I believe that with support, I can build something beautiful and lasting. If you’re able to contribute, thank you from the depths of my heart. Your kindness means everything.
