My hips don't lie, but they also don't work, fml.

Hi! My name is Forrest Brady and I'm a student at The University of the District of Columbia, for Biomedical Engineering.

About 2 years ago I was in a cycling accident and was hit by a taxi. There was blame on both sides, but not enough to where he had to pay for all the damages. I thought I had recovered pretty well from it- I was back up and biking after about 2 months! However, that winter was tough and there was a lot of joint pain. I toughed it out because it's what I was taught to do, but the pain kept getting worse in bad weather and the next winter floored me. This last summer was when I noticed the pain wasn't just because of bad weather and I started to lose my mobility. That following winter was when I hit my breaking point. I developed a severe limp and had to use a crutch to walk most days. Fortunately, this was right around the time that Biden started stimulating people and I was one of them.

So, after getting advice and encouragement from my wonderful girlfriend, friends and family, I finally went into the doctor to figure out what was going on. X Ray's and an MRI have revealed that I have stage 4 osteonecrosis in my hip and a torn meniscus in my knee. Given that several hundred people in D.C. die in bicycle accidents yearly, I have to count myself lucky that was all the damage done. However, I am in no way shape or form able to afford the required hip replacement surgery. The surgery is the only viable method of treatment and there is no cure. Time is also a large factor as it is possible that my hip bone could collapse into itself.

I am currently working at a CVS across the street from my UNI and I am lucky enough to live a few blocks away from both, but I am actively looking for any kind of work from home position or office job. If anyone has any kind of opportunities that they know of in the DC area or any work from home positions as well as their donations, I am trying very hard to stay positive and keep focusing on the future and staying working and on top of classes. This has been a huge blow to my stability and already almost bankrupted me just trying to get a diagnosis.

I have not scheduled the surgery yet as I am still trying to establish how I will move for from here. How I am able to do so depends largely on my financial condition, so by donating you are not only helping to alleviate my physical ailments but also helping me to get my life back on schedule.

Thank you so much for your compassion, your charity, your empathy, your encouragement, but most of all thank you for your humanity. We are all in this together and I will always be working to make this world a better one for everyone, regardless of my situation or condition. Thanks again, everyone, and love to all!
