My Grandpa’s Funeral Arrangements

Donation protected
Dear friends and family and kind hearted strangers,

My name is Ivy, I am reaching out on behalf of my grandpa, Tirso Martinez. During this difficult time; we are humbly asking for your compassion, support, and generosity.

A few days ago, my grandpa called upon the family and decided that he no longer wanted to receive his treatments for End-Stage renal disease (Dialysis) and Metastatic Adenocarcinoma of unknown origin. He has been fighting for his life for the past 3 1/2 years between dialysis, radiation, and chemotherapy. His battle to cancer has come to an end, due to being terminal. He informed us he fought for as long as he could for us, but can no longer continue fighting, due to his pain being so unbearable. As much as it hurts us to part with him, we understand his quality of life these last 3 months have brought upon insufferable pain for him. We can no longer bear watching him suffer for the sake of him staying on this earth longer for us. Even though our family is devastated and hurting, we can’t fathom seeing him suffer anymore. He has been the greatest grandfather, brother, father, husband and massively devoted to the community of his church & immigrant agricultural community. Many people have seen him as a father figure and he’s come together for many and us all. Never failed to be the strongest person in any room. Having only come here at a such a young age and built his family up from humble beginnings after migrating from Mexico more than 35 years ago. We are proud of all the accomplishments and achievements he has given us and celebrated with us. He has always been our angel walking upon this earth, for not only his family but for many people who have crossed paths with him. He leaves a beautiful legacy behind that we’ll cherish forever more.

Those who know my grandpa can attest to his kind and caring personality. He’s a genuinely warm, talkative, humorous person. He’s a natural jokester and has a smile that never faded nor wavered due to his condition. He’s always willing to help in any way he can and whenever needed.

In our quest to provide him with the best end of life treatments and proper funeral arrangements we kindly ask for your support. Every donation received will directly contribute to his end of life necessities and funeral arrangements. During this extremely difficult time for my family and I, we thank you for the calls, texts, and words of encouragement. We humbly ask if you can share this with your friends, family, co-workers, and anyone who’d like to donate. Your support and prayers for grandpa mean the world to my family and I during this challenging time.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing with us and most importantly with my grandpa.

*UPDATE* As of yesterday 9/28, My grandpa passed away in the comfort of his home with his loved ones. He fought til his very last breath. We are heartbroken but we are remaining strong because we know he is no longer suffering. He was a strong man and I couldn’t have been more proud to be his granddaughter. My welo is now my guardian angel. -ivy
