Hi, my name is Giuliana Murillo and I’m creating this GoFundMe as the granddaughter of Oscar Murillo, a man who means the world to our family.

Just over a week ago, our lives were turned upside down. My grandpa suffered a sudden and serious fall that caused a traumatic head injury. He was rushed into emergency brain surgery, and while the doctors managed to save his life, he is now facing an incredibly long and uncertain road to recovery.

My grandfather is currently in Honduras, and the medical costs are overwhelming. In Honduras, most healthcare expenses must be paid out of pocket — from the surgery itself, to medications, hospital care, follow-up treatments, and therapy. Every day, the bills are growing.

What makes this even harder is that my dad (his son) is trying to travel back to Honduras to be with him, to care for him during this difficult and fragile time. But travel costs are high, and we need help making that happen too.

This GoFundMe is to help cover:

• Medical expenses in Honduras

• Rehabilitation and long-term care

• Travel costs for my dad to return and be with my grandpa

• Anything needed to support his recovery at home

Hola, mi nombre es Giuliana Murillo, y estoy creando esta campaña como nieta de Oscar Murillo, un hombre que significa el mundo para nuestra familia.

Hace poco más de una semana, nuestras vidas cambiaron por completo. Mi abuelito sufrió una caída repentina y muy grave, que le causó una lesión cerebral traumática. Fue llevado de urgencia a una cirugía cerebral, y gracias a Dios, los doctores lograron salvarle la vida. Pero ahora enfrenta un camino muy largo, difícil e incierto hacia su recuperación.

Mi abuelito se encuentra en Honduras, y los gastos médicos son muy altos. Allá, todo debe pagarse de forma directa — desde la cirugía, los medicamentos, la estancia en el hospital, hasta la rehabilitación y los tratamientos posteriores. Cada día, las cuentas aumentan más.

Además, mi papá (su hijo) quiere viajar a Honduras lo antes posible para estar con él y cuidarlo. Pero también necesitamos apoyo para cubrir los gastos del viaje.
