My grandmother, Amber Sims who is battling cancer

Hello, my name is Myown and I’m fundraising for my grandmother, Amber Sims. My grandmother was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2015. She was able to complete chemo, radiation, her mastectomy and reconstruction surgery. 24 lymph nodes were removed to prevent any cancer growth in her right arm.

By February 2023 my grandmother, Amber was seven years in remission when we received the news that she had a tumor on her lung and that the cancer had spread throughout her body. She contracted cancer for the second time in her life and is expected to coexist with Metastatic breast cancer.

My grandmother is stage 4 battling lymphedema in her right arm. Her insurance doesn’t cover the medical supplies and care that she needs in order to manage the lymphedema.

She helped raise me until she started her battle against breast cancer in 2015. She has constantly put others before her and continues to help others in need. She has always focused on living a healthy lifestyle by eating healthy, participating in marathons and continuous weightlifting. While fighting cancer she has been caring for children and weight lifting at LA Fitness for the past 10 years.

Due to the lymphedema in her right arm, she is unable to continue her normal activities as she usually would. It is causing her pain and swelling. In order for her to return to doing the things she loves, she needs to be able to purchase a customized lymphedema compression sleeve, glove and arm mit which are very expensive. My grandmother never asked for help but now has to. She’s in a situation where she still doesn’t want to ask for help so I’m asking for her.
