ShaNiyah Needs a BMT ended Nov 19 2020

On May 28th my 10 year old granddaughter ShaNiyah was admitted to the hospital, the hospitals told us that she had Leukemia . After a series of test, they ruled out Leukemia, and notified her parents that she had Severe Aplastic Anemia and would require a (BMT). Severe Aplastic Anemia is a rare blood condition that stops the body from making enough blood cells. Severe aplastic anemia (SAA) is a disease in which the bone marrow does not make enough blood cells for the body. Diseases treated by transplant. Chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) Multiple myeloma. Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). The condition leaves you fatigued and more prone to infections and uncontrolled bleeding. A rare and serious condition, aplastic anemia can develop at any age. It can occur suddenly, or it can come on slowly and worsen over time. The symptoms and treatments is similar to Leukemia.
It has been a few weeks and they have not placed her on the donor list and have failed to send out the donor testing kits to the family to allow family members to be tested. ShaNiyah's current treatment includes weekly blood transfusions, anti fungal medicine which requires her parents to drive 2-4 hours one way to get to the specialty hospital every week.
Our last resort is to see private help for our family and friends to be tested at BoneMarrowTest.com they help patients and their care circle of physicians, family and friends identify potential donors of bone marrow, stem cells, peripheral blood cells or umbilical cord blood.
