Shahbano - Our friend's daughter

Hi everyone,

I met Hokim during my IWTP time in London UK, where we became very good friends. After the program, he went back to Tajikistan and I went back to Canada, but the two of us have remained in contact since. When Shaheena and myself visited Tajikistan in 2013, he hosted us in Dushanbe and we met his beautiful family.

A couple weeks ago, I learned that his daughter, Shahbonu, similar in age to my own daughters, has been diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic Leukemia. The surgery and treatment required is not available within Tajikistan, so Hokim needs to take Shahbonu abroad. They have a couple options for countries that can provide the surgery, but will need help to make it happen.

I ask that if you can, please join me in contributing to help Shahbonu receive the surgery and treatment she needs. Hokim and his wife have already sold their apartment and car in Dushanbe to raise funds for Shahbano's surgery and treatment, and hopefully with our help they will have enough. The money will be sent to Dushanbe, Tajikistan, if anyone has any specific questions (including questions about medical reports etc) please feel free to contact me directly.
