Hello All,
I am a proud Father, submitting this humble request on behalf of my 20 yr old son “Tre”, who is an extremely intelligent, dedicated, and resilient young man who has already overcome insurmountable odds in his young adult life.
Tre is currently enrolled in a local community college, where he is now set to graduate with his Associates Degree this July 2020; all while maintaining a 3.33 GPA; holding down a job; AND remaining an active participant in his community through service!
On June 25, 2020, Tre realized his ultimate dream, which was to attend an esteemed HBCU (Historically Black College or University”)! And we are excited to share that he received an acceptance letter from Hampton University, where he has been invited to attend with a major in Mathematics!! Words cannot describe how proud I am of him…and more importantly, how proud Tre is of himself! As he keenly kept his sights focused on pushing forward and persevering, despite some early challenges in his young life!
As Tre is just now set to graduate this Summer with his Associates Degree, unfortunately, we needed to wait until June 2020 before we could submit his college applications. And therefore, his subsequent college acceptances (he received more than one acceptance letter ) were a bit delayed. Therefore, this caused a delay in our being on track to apply for or accept scholarships for this upcoming Fall 2020 semester, as most scholarship awards have already been given out.
Hampton University is Tre’s first choice, and the total estimated cost per year is $42,148 (which includes $26,198 just for tuition). So we are sincerely and humbly requesting your financial support to help Tre continue to achieve his goal of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree from Hampton. We’d truly appreciate your assistance with raising funds in the form of personal donations to help us fund Tre’s first academic year. The following year, Tre plans to enlist in the U.S. Coast Guard to help offset some of his college expenses; as well as he will be in line next year to apply for scholarships during the regular scholarship application season.
We have set up a Go Fund Me page to facilitate and manage college donations for Tre. Any donated amount will be greatly appreciated as we know it will enable Tre to not only realize his bright future in Mathematics AND in the military, but enable him to one day return the favor and pay it forward to someone else like him. Someone with a dream, a desire, and an opportunity to be fortunate enough to lean on their village to help bring their dream to fruition. Thank you in advance.
