My name is Kalia, and I'm asking for your help to save my sweet dog, Aulelei. She came into my life in May 2016 when she was just two weeks old. She was the only girl in a litter of five. Her previous owner didn't want any girls, and was planning to abandon her by the train tracks. We couldn't let that happen, so we brought her home and she's been our beloved "fur baby" ever since. This year, she turned nine years old.

A month ago, I noticed something was wrong. Aulelei was sleeping and drinking a lot more than usual, and her tummy started to get bigger every day. She still tried to be playful, but I could tell she was in pain.

I took her to the vet on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. After an exam and X-rays, the doctor delivered some heartbreaking news. Aulelei has a very enlarged liver and inflammation in her stomach. On top of that, the constant drinking has caused a dangerous buildup of fluid in her uterus that's turning into pus. This condition is fatal if she doesn't get treatment immediately.

The costs for her blood work, surgery, and medication are really expensive, and I can't do it alone. I am reaching out to ask for any help you can offer to cover her medical bills and give her the chance to get better.
